General Information About Bali Island

 

The Island

The word "paradise" is used a lot in Bali and not without reason. The combination of friendly, hospitable people, a magnificently visual culture infused with spirituality and spectacular beaches with great surfing and diving have made Bali Indonesia's unrivaled number one tourist attraction.

 

Religion

The majority of Indonesian people are Muslims, but for most people in Bali it is a Hindu and every aspect of Balinese life is suffused with religion and culture.

Balinese is linguistically very different from Bahasa Indonesia. In tourist regions, English and some other foreign languages are widely spoken. Any visitor who makes an effort to speak a few words will be especially warmly received by the local people.


 

Transports

Bali has no railway network but a very good road network is available, especially to areas of tourist destination. This type of public transportation in Bali include: gig (vehicles using the horse as a puller), motorcycle taxis, bemo (served in and intercity), taxi, and bus (serves intercity relations, rural, and between provinces).

 

Traditional House

According to the philosophy of the Balinese, Bali House in accordance with the rules of Asta Kosala Kosali (part of the Vedas that govern the layout of the room and building, as Feng Shui in Chinese Culture).

 

Custom Clothing
